mp3 rotation #36

Artist: Jay Chou
Title: Fa Ru Xue (Snow Like Hair)
Description: Taken off his latest album, November Chopin. I have yet to listen to the entire album, but from the few tracks that were sent to me, this is by far the best. Admitedly, Jay doesn't do ballads like how he used to... but occassionally there are a few pretty-alright ones, such as this one; tis scores point for the traditional chinese instruments fused into the melody. -.-
<<download>>

Artist: Fish Leong
Title: Yong Qi
Description: I've heard this song countless times; more so that it's a favourite among my karaoke buddies. (- -") But it was only recently that I went on a clueless, direction-less search for it on Ares... cos no one could tell me what the title was, and I couldn't recall the tune unless I heard it.... erm, ya. BUT ANYWAY! Lovely lovely song, do give it a go. One of her more popular songs I think.
<<download>>

Artist: Acidman
Title: turn around (second line)
Description: B-side to their latest single, World Symphony. Sharp and funky acoustic beauty. Good shit.
<<download>>

Artist: Pizzicato Five
Title: Shopping Bag
Description: The whole reason why I downloaded their album was cos their name sounded so awfully cute. Pizzicato. >.< !! And wahey is it any surprise that almost all of their songs live up to the cutenessity that is them, wahahaha. No, really. Very light and breezy and happee.... the sort that makes a theme song for, say, a skip in the park.
<<download>>

Artist: Pizzicato Five
Title: Airplane
Description: Yeah even the song titles are so kute, sigh. This one is slightly more upbeat than the previous one......... but nevertheless still plenty of bright sunshine energy and happiness. Oh I forgot to mention that the vocalist sounds a bit like that TommyFeb chick from The Brilliant Green. In fact this number can be likened to BuriGuri's sound, albeit a hipper version.
<<download>>

Artist: Dollis Marry
Title: FANKII Night HANII
Description: Go Johnny Go, Go Johnny Go! Johnny Be Good~~ Similar but not quite the same. Interesting song though... you don't get rock-n-roll stuff much anymore these days.
<<download>>

Artist: Sparta Locals
Title: Aoi Natsu
Description: If I can sum them up in one sentence: FRANZ FERDINAND GONE JAPANESU! >.<
<<download>>

Artist: Madonna
Title: Hung Up
Description: Her much raved-about latest single ---> if you haven't already heard it or seen her prancing around in her vid in that soon-to-be-infamous pink tights. :) This song marked her return to the dance scene (not that she's really been that gone, but u know)....... and gads it's so extremely addictive. Especially that riff (eh?) taken from ABBA's "Gimme Gimme Gimme"; just adds to the catchiness of the song. Apparently she had to 'beg' them to sample it into this track... as what I read online. Ah, whatever.
<<download>>

Artist: Matchbox Twenty
Title: Push (acoustic version)
Description: Yoh, you've read it right. ACOUSTIC VERSION. OF AN ALREADY AWESOME SONG. BY THE AWESOME M20 BOYS THEMSELVES. Hur hur.
<<download>>

Artist: Westlife
Title: You Raise Me Up
Description: Their cover of Josh Groban's hit song. Erm.... well with due respect Josh is a remarkable singer, with the voice of an angel that is able to touched millions and what not. But heck I like pop-sified version a lot as well. It probably wrecked some of you that Westlife did a Groban cover, but it's not that bad I promise! And they've even infused a bit of Irish elements into it. ^^

mp3 rotation #35

Artist: Stonebay
Title: Name
Description: A local underground band; this is their self-recorded single... and the only thing I have to say about it is: fckin raw and kick-ass material. >.< Pls do download this song... take it as giving these boys a chance to spread their music around yeah? And tell me what you think about it, thank you. *muax*
<<download>>

Artist: Alicia Keys
Title: When You Really Love Someone
Description: Some bit of soul will do ya gud bro' Here's Alicia and sum' gud lovin' for ya.
<<download>>

Artist: Belanova
Title: Me Pregunto Porque
Description: I found this people by chance while randomly surfing for dance/chill/lounge songs... and I've progressed to downloading the entire album. =.= Taken off their 'Cocktail' album, me thinks this falls into the Ibiza category if I'm not mistaken. Ibiza, in case you don't already know, is one of the clubbing central in the world, located in Spain. And if you think Cafe del Mar is way too mild for you and Tiesto trances you too much, Belanova is the perfect stuff for u. <3
<<download>>

Artist: Thievery Corporation ft Patrick de Santos
Title: Sol Tapado
Description: Yet another awesome chillout song from this, er, corporation. This one starts out with rather tribal sounding drumming [I'm thinking Brazilian capoeira music], then bass comes in and the fusion of electronica and primitive instruments just comes together and you have this incredibly sexy number.
<<download>>

Artist: O-Zone
Title: Numa Numa
Description: .............. cheesy techno numbers can only be taken in one at a time, and nothing exceeding 3 within a day. This one has been a craze all over, and has picked up even more recently cos it was used in the Chicken Little trailer. And then there was that infamous vid clip that was circulated all over the Net. [
click here to watch] All together now! Numa numa yaey, numa numa yaey, numa numa numa yaey~~ (/-_-)/  \(-_-\)
<<download>>

Artist: Lin Jun Jie
Title: Mu Nai Yi
Description: Something that can be likened to his Di Er Tian Tang song.... but less 'minor-key' sounding; as this one's quite a blatant pop number.  ._. Oh and with a hint of Arabic tunes as well... probably cashing in on the current 'in' thing or smth.
<<download>>

Artist: Andy Lau
Title: Lian Xi
Description: Yay, we just heart Wah Chai, don't we? (/^ ^)/ And the man seems to be ageing oh so gracefully..... each line developing on his face just stamps more character onto it don't you think? >.< And he's so handsome, heehee. Ok but that's besides the point. This song good. This song you listen. And you might have just heard this around before... as was what occured to me when I first listened to it.
<<download>>

Artist: nobodyknows+
Title: Douyo
Description: Latino beats and funky classical guitar... with rapping in Japanese. And then it starts sounding Bossanova. ><
<<download>>

Artist: nobodyknows+
Title: Natsu no Kakera
Description: Chill out, loungey sounding stuff... with rapping in Japanese. I just can't get ever get too much of nK+
<<download>>

Artist: Aya
Title: Medi
Description: I've had her album for some time now, but haven't really listened to it properly till the other day. And ya know tis was surprisingly quite good; here's one that's in reminiscence of... a Jap, more edgey version of..... name me an American female rocker, hmmmmmmmmm Alanis Morissette. Style is pretty different though, but hear her (Aya-chan) out, I insist.
<<download>>

Artist: Sid
Title: Boku, diner
Description: B-side to their latest single: Sweet... which was too overly synthesized and 80s sounding for my liking. -.- But this track's full of jazzy and swing goodness though; elements of Sid that got me hooked to them in the first place. ^^
<<download>>

Artist: Dir en Grey
Title: Undecided
Description: Wahahahaha, I realised it's been long since I've posted up a Diru number.... so for old times' sake, here's one from when they were still a brimming-ful of goodness. T__T The same can't be said for some of their newer works, sigh.
<<download>>

Artist: Acidman
Title: Kisetsu no Akari
Description: Hm, either I've been misinformed all these while or I've been asleep while these guys blossomed into acoustic beauties. Vocalist has an incredibly beautiful voice, which fits like a jigsaw piece into this equally as pretty acoustic number. And it doesn't just stop there, cos the song eventually picks up in momentum and becomes this really epic-al number.
<<download>>

Artist: Kiss
Title: Because I'm A Girl
Description: Female kpop music. Lovey ballad. 'nuff said.
<<download>>

Artist: Peterpan
Title: Ku Katakan Dengan Indah
Description: I love every single track of their Bintang Di Surga album, so yeah it's only a matter of time before I post every one of them up here. ^^" This song's slower in tempo, and in true Peterpan style --> hot and smexy vocals backed by easy-listening and catchy melody. I will say Foo Fighters gone Indon. *nods*

mp3 rotation #34

Artist: Elvis Presley
Title: A Little Less Conversation (JXL remix)
Description: HUAHUAHUAHUAHUA I'm never really big on dance remixes, but this one's of the few exceptions. So. Extremely. Dance-worthy. Coupled with a few shots and you're ready to take the dance podium. Or bar top even, if that's to your liking. ^^
<<download>>

Artist: Bodyrockers
Title: I Like The Way You Move
Description: Fckin awesome song, that's all I can say. I hereby christened this song the Official Party Song of the Decade. (/>___<)/
<<download>>

Artist: Beyonce, Free, Missy Elliot, MC Lyte
Title: Fighting Temptation
Description: *continues dancing*
<<download>>

Artist: Black Eyed Peas
Title: Sexy
Description: Taken off the soundtrack of 'Be Cool' the movie. And the title says it all really - I would say this song is perfect for seducing your man/woman prior to getting him/her to bed. *nods* Or on a less degree, it'll be good for getting upclose and personal with hot guy/chick on the danceflOOr.
<<download>>

Artist: Collective Soul
Title: The World I Know
Description: One can never get enough of the late 90's alternative rock scene, yes? At least for me the statement goes. Alongside the awesomeness of Goo and Wallflowers, we have Collective Soul with this track - which, at first glance of the title might not ring a bell, but listen to it and I'm sure you've heard it at some point.
<<download>>

Artist: DHT
Title: Listen To Your Heart (slow version)
Description: As opposed to dance remixes, I'll always welcome piano, acoustic or orchestra remix of a song... cos the odds of bashing a once-lovely song to mere techno trash are way lower. Anyway this is a remake of Roxette's hit number, and ... surprisingly quite a good job done really.
<<download>>

Artist: Ayumi Hamasaki
Title: Heaven (piano version)
Description: Hm, the sound quality of this file is not too good... but nevertheless, a very pretty version of an already very pretty track. While the original version had that epic-al feel to it, this one's rather simple in comparison... yet effective in its own way. Piano-backed songs after all can rarely go wrong, ne? ^^
<<download>>

Artist: Utada Hikaru
Title: Sukiyaki
Description: I downloaded this with hopes that it was her rendition of the japanese folk song. And it was indeed; but how disappointingly, in English. (- -") In other words, it was a remake of 4PM's Sukiyaki and not traditional-Jap-folk-singer's Sukiyaki. Miah. Dig the trad instruments background though.
<<download>>

Artist: nobodyknows+
Title: El Mirador
Description: Wheeeeeee, new stuff from these guys finally! (/^ ^)/ This track starts off unassumingly mellow [think lounge piano stuff], and then breaks into their signature style of fusion R&B and chill/jazz/latin. I can't quite pinpoint the mix in this one, but yah a fab result at the end of it all and that's more important. I'm in love with these guys, if you don't already know.
<<download>>

Artist: nobodyknows+
Title: @ the same time
Description: B-side track to the single. Tis sounds like a cross between Jamiroquai and RIP SLYME, if I must say.... A little lack of energy and oomph compared to the previous track though.
<<download>>

Artist: RIP SLYME
Title: Get Busy
Description: Uhh, there's this buzzing sound at the beginning of the track (for a couple of seconds), which I don't think is supposed to be there. O.o Just a forewarning; but the rest of the file is in perfect condition. ^^ Song is quite an interesting, if peculiar, fusion of Chinese synths and rapping in Japanese.... but it's nice!
<<download>>

Artist: BoA
Title: Merikuri
Description: Yes laa I know it's 2 months too early, but I'm just really in love with this song. Brings tears to the eyes ya know; everytime I listen to this song I start imagining myself in Tokyo with my baby, and we're spending a white Christmas eve (don't think it snows in Tokyo though?) admist the backdrop of Shinjuku.... T__T And everything else romantic that comes along. ^^
<<download>>

Artist: L'arc~en~ciel
Title: Ibara no Namida
Description: Long live old school Laruku. \m/ If you're not familiar with these guys, then tis a good start to give you a feel of what the band is like. And I'm celebrating the fact that a few tracks off their AWAKE album is in reminiscence of their older works.. such as this one.
<<download>>

Artist: Fish Leong
Title: Fen Shou Kuai Le
Description: Thumbs up for the strings accompaniment and her fairly distinctive voice. Apart from that, it's basically just... well, yet another Chinese ballad I supposed.
<<download>>

Artist: Lin Jun Jie
Title: Yi Qian Nian Yi Hou
Description: And I've always prefered em male Chinese artists for some reason. Music tends to pack more versatility (in terms of genre and melody and creative jist); and maybe I just happened to chance upon more catchy numbers than of their female counterparts'. And here's one of em!

mp3 rotation #33

English

Artist: Way Out West feat. Kirsty Hawkshaw
Title: Stealth (Way Out West club remix)
Remark: House music at its best. WOW fckin kicks ass, weeeeee~
<<download>>

Artist: Nelly feat. Christina Aguilera
Title: Tilt Ya Head Back
Remark: To be honest I'm not much of a fan of neither, but putting them both together? You get this awesome track to jiggy to on the dancefloor.
<<download>>

Artist: Minus 8
Title: Starlight
Remark: I've been searching all over for this song before finally stumbling across it over Ares last nite. Hmm.... I'm still quite an amateur in the electronic music genre, but I'm making a guess that this is somewhat of a cross between chill-out and house. Yes Ive been listening a lot to this sort lately. ^^
<<download>>

Artist: Juliet The Orange
Title: Quizzical
Remark: Local female duo, who has since disbanded (I think)... but tis one of their songs that made it to mainstream airplay. Very light and breezy acoustic stuff, coupled with the vocalist's sweet and endearing voice. And she's an ex-colleague of my mum! :D
<<download>>

Artist: Howie Day
Title: Collide (acoustic version)
Remark: I liken Howie Day to James Blunt, in terms of song type... except that Howie's voice is less 'whiney' and more husky. I reckon you'll dig this one as well if you had enjoyed Blunt's You're Beautiful.
<<download>>

Chinese

Artist: Guang Liang
Title: Shao Nian
Remark: Post- Tong Hua success, I went searching for more of Guang Liang's numbers. This one has a second vocalist backing him up, but I can quite tell who it is though. =/ But it's a really pretty piano and strings track, and then there's his saccharin-sweet voice.
<<download>>

Artist: Jackie Chan feat. Kim
Title: Endless Love
Remark: Taken off the soundtrack of The Myth. Er, don't let the 'Jackie Chan' bit put you off [like how it did for me initially], cos... what lacked in the superiority of his voice, made up in the beautiful, 'epic-sounding' melody of this track. And the duet with Kim is lovely; the Korean+Chinese combo makes it all the more interesting.
<<download>>

Artist: Joey Yung
Title: Yi Ge Ren De Qing Ge
Remark: Familiar, I've heard it somewhere before.... Nothing short of your regular Chinese love ballads. But nice though.
<<download>>

Artist: Lin Jun Jie
Title: Hui You Na Me Yi Tian
Remark: Ditto to the above, except that this one has additional strings background... which I happen to have a soft-spot for. T.T And JJ's crooning can single-handedly melt one to butter and fats. >_<
<<download>>

Artist: Jolin Tsai
Title: Ling Meng Cao De Wei Dao
Remark: I don't love her to bits, but anything with piano and strings scores big time with me. So yes, have another one won't ya?
<<download>>

Japanesu

Artist: The Trax
Title: Blaze Away
Remark: Their latest Japanese single. And have you seen their vid? They've been packaged away from their initial visual-kei image, and now headed towards something 'lighter'. For some reason, even has an uncanny resemblance to Glay - that other brainchild of Yoshiki. O.O This song starts off promising enough; distorted riffs and the works. But then the melody breaks in, and suddenly it's all JPopRock... not wicked enough to be J-rock, but not bubblegummy enough for Jpop either. =/ Not exactly complaining though, quite a catchy number [think Takui and Glay]... and vocalist Jay Kim's grasp of the language should be applauded.
<<download>>

Artist: The Trax
Title: End of the World
Remark: B-side track to Blaze Away. This is basically just a Japanese version of their previous Korean single B-side song, Over The Rainbow (the rock version). Personally I prefer the original version, but this one ain't too bad as well I guess. Lack the energy though.
<<download>>

Artist: Dir en Grey
Title: Clever Sleazoid
Remark: Latest. Noise. Too much. Don't like. =.=
<<download>>

Artist: Dir en Grey
Title: dead tree [LIVE]
Remark: I heart the album version of this song! This live version however, was a little disappointing cos Kyo sounded a little weak.. or tired even, when belting out this song live. =/ Let's just say they've had better ones in the past, these solemn and melancholic numbers.
<<download>>

Artist: Hyde
Title: Countdown
Remark: HYDE-TO-SAAAAAAAN!! His latest solo effort, and tis geared towards the more rocku side, as opposed to his slow ballady works from Roetgen. In fact this one is much heavier compared to most of Laruku's work... beautifully darker and plenty of substantial distortions. Yosha, show the man some lovin'~
<<download>>

Korean

Remark for all: Slow R&B love ballads.

Artist: Taebin feat. Kim Ji Eun
Title: Sarang Hal Soo It Gae
<<download>>

Artist: Fly To The Sky
Title: The Promise
<<download>>

Artist: Shinhwa
Title: Without You
<<download>>

Artist: As One
Title: I Won't Cry
<<download>>

Artist: SE7EN

Title:
